A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a burglary and theft at a house in Springville, Ruwa, on 6 June 2025, where cash and valuables worth US$190,000 were stolen.
In a statement, Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Chief Staff Officer (Press and Public Relations), Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed that Blessing Kennes (28), together with his accomplice Remember Glademore Fambauone, who is still at large, allegedly broke into the house and stole US$182,050 in cash, a Samsung S23 Ultra mobile phone, a Derya pistol, and two magazines loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition. Added Comm. Nyathi:
“On 13th August 2025, detectives from CID Homicide acted on received information and tracked Blessing Kennes to Tsiga Area in Mbare, Harare, where he was subsequently arrested, leading to the recovery of US$20,250 in cash and a Derya Pistol.
“The detectives also recovered a Toyota Nadia vehicle, which was bought with proceeds from the theft.
“Police investigations revealed that the accomplice, Remember Glademore Fambauone, acquired a property in Crowhill, Harare, for US$10,000, a Nissan NV350 vehicle for US$14,300, and gave US$5,600 to his mother for safekeeping in Mhundirwa Village, Rusape.
“The police have since recovered cash and property worth US$55,150.”
