Socialite Natalie Mhandu, who is facing accusations of witchcraft, has been temporarily removed from remand after prosecutors said they were still waiting for key evidence before proceeding with the case.

The State told the court that it cannot move forward until it receives an official statement from the Zimbabwe National Traditional Healers Association (ZINATHA), the body that represents and regulates traditional healers in the country. Authorities are also waiting for a video assessment from cyber experts. Once those are ready, Mhandu will be summoned back to court.
Allegations Against Mhandu
According to court papers, Mhandu allegedly roped in her maid, Elizabeth Marire, to accompany her on a visit to a traditional healer, Christine Matashu—popularly known as Manjenjenje—in Glen View.
The trio later went to Churu Farm, where Mhandu was reportedly instructed on how to perform a spell against the complainant. It is alleged she took a red cloth, wrote down the names Mwarianesu, Amanda, Ishmael and Tariro Maumbe, before digging a hole and burying the cloth along with a knife.
Fallout With Maid
Trouble started after Mhandu and her maid returned home. Marire allegedly discovered that snuff had been sprinkled around her room, sparking a heated fallout between the two.
The maid later left Mhandu’s home and went to alert the complainant about the alleged spell. Together, they returned to Churu Farm to dig up the buried items.
